Affordability Problem?
Not for Trump!
Some excerpts from an editorial that appeared in “The Philadelphia Enquirer” expose Trump as the liar, selfish, and heartless tyrant he is:
During a cabinet meeting on Tuesday 9/9/25, “between nodding off and a racist rant Trump declared…that the cost of living squeeze felt by millions of Americans ‘doesn’t mean anything to anybody.’” Trump said that “all the talk about affordability was a ‘con job.’”
“Trump ran for office last year on the promise to lower prices, end the war in Ukraine, and release the Jeffrey Epstein files. He’s done none of it.”
“A Wall Street portfolio manager argued that after factoring in the cost of childcare, housing, healthcare, and other essentials, the real poverty line for a family of four should be $140,000.. The median household income in the U.S. is about $84,000.”
“The unemployment rate hit its highest since 2021, and a record number of small businesses have filed for bankruptcy this year, along with several large companies such as Spirit Airlines, Claire’s, and First Brands.”
“The wealthiest 10% of Americans added $5 trillion to their fortunes in just the second quarter of 2025. And Trump’s net worth has increased by $3 billion this year.”
Why has the economy sunk to this abysmal and exploitative level? Trump’s tariffs on building materials have driven up the cost of housing (the average age for a first time home buyer is 40) as well as so many other products. His terrorizing and deportation of immigrants has reduced the labor supply, driving up the cost of food and construction projects. His tax breaks for the super wealthy have increased their net worth while the elimination of tax incentives for renewable energy projects has resulted in higher utility costs; cuts in social programs are causing millions of Americans and starving children in undeveloped nations to go hungry.
Bill Clinton was widely ridiculed for saying “I feel your pain.” Trump is saying I don’t feel your pain; I couldn’t care less; I and my associates are doing extremely well so the economy is great. American consumers should simply buy less. He actually suggested we buy two or three pencils and two or three dolls rather than 30 some. How out of touch can a person be?
Keep writing and calling to demand that your representative and senators vote to impeach and convict Trump and all of his cabinet members as well as the heartless “conservative” majority in SCOTUS.
If that doesn’t happen vote for progressive Democrats in local, state, and national primaries and elections.
The evidence is strong; Americans have had with Trump’s tyranny, his BS, his corruption, his cruelty, his haughty attitude and perversions.
