House Speaker Mike Johnson said the military’s decision to attack an alleged drug-smuggling vessel for a second time to kill survivors of an initial strike was “entirely appropriate” and followed Defense Department rules. Johnson told reporters that the military strike in September has been “overly politicized.”
“This is a straightforward case,” he said. “Narco terrorists were caught in the process of smuggling deadly drugs and throughout the United States. The individuals on that vessel were not helpless castaways. Once again the Speaker proves himself to be a consummate liar and/or an ignoramus who understands nothing about the Christianity he espouses, the Constitution of the United States, the Geneva Conventions, or international law. He knows that the people killed were “drug runners” and were trying to turn the boat over so as to “continue pushing drugs to kill Americans.” How does he know that? Trump, mentally crippled by the effects of aging, Hegseth, a drunken third-rate FOX weekend host, and their military lackeys told him so.
He ignores the humane aspects of Christian morality, the international rules of law, and American military ethics, proclaiming that killing helpless survivors of a missile attack was “entirely appropriate.” Why? Because two men were going to turn a twenty foot boat over and fight (with what?) American planes armed with missiles so that they could continue “pushing drugs to kill Americans,” the drugs in the twenty foot capsized boat they were turning over.
